Developers

Keys and guides for the OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible API. Requests are paid from the same balance as chat.

Any tool that lets you change its OpenAI or Anthropic base URL can run on Hide Router, paid from your balance. Every model works, including the uncensored models that call tools.

Give each tool its own key with a spending limit

An agent stuck in a loop can't spend more than its key allows, and you can revoke one tool's key without touching the others. Create keys on the API keys tab.

Claude Code

Claude Code uses the Anthropic Messages API. Set these variables in the shell where you run claude, or add them to the env block of its settings file.

export ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL=https://hide.st/api
export ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN=sk-hide-...

# Optional: choose the models Claude Code uses
export ANTHROPIC_MODEL=anthropic/claude-fable-5.1
export ANTHROPIC_DEFAULT_HAIKU_MODEL=anthropic/claude-haiku-4.5

ANTHROPIC_DEFAULT_HAIKU_MODEL is the small model Claude Code uses for background work; older versions read ANTHROPIC_SMALL_FAST_MODEL instead. Claude Code style names such as claude-fable-5-1 map to the matching anthropic/ model.

Cline and Kilo Code

Both extensions connect through their OpenAI Compatible provider.

  1. In the extension's settings, set API Provider to OpenAI Compatible.
  2. Set Base URL to https://hide.st/api/v1
  3. Paste your key into API Key.
  4. Enter a model ID, such as anthropic/claude-fable-5.1.

OpenCode

Add Hide Router as a provider in opencode.json, in your project or in ~/.config/opencode/opencode.json. List each model you want to pick from under models.

opencode.json
{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "provider": {
    "hide": {
      "npm": "@ai-sdk/openai-compatible",
      "name": "Hide Router",
      "options": {
        "baseURL": "https://hide.st/api/v1",
        "apiKey": "{env:HIDE_API_KEY}"
      },
      "models": {
        "anthropic/claude-fable-5.1": { "name": "Claude Fable 5.1" },
        "openai/gpt-6-sol": { "name": "GPT 6 Sol" }
      }
    }
  },
  "model": "hide/anthropic/claude-fable-5.1"
}

Export HIDE_API_KEY before you start OpenCode, then switch models with /models.

Cursor

  1. Open Cursor Settings and go to Models.
  2. Under API Keys, paste your key into OpenAI API Key and turn on Override OpenAI Base URL.
  3. Set the base URL to https://hide.st/api/v1
  4. Add a custom model with a model ID, such as anthropic/claude-fable-5.1, and turn it on.

Cursor sends these requests from its own servers, so the base URL has to be reachable from the internet. Features such as Tab completion keep using Cursor's own models.

Aider

Shell
export OPENAI_API_BASE=https://hide.st/api/v1
export OPENAI_API_KEY=sk-hide-...

aider --model openai/anthropic/claude-fable-5.1

The openai/ prefix tells Aider to use an OpenAI-compatible server. Everything after it is the model ID.

Other tools

Look for a provider option named OpenAI Compatible or Custom OpenAI, or a setting for the Anthropic base URL. You need three values:

Base URL
https://hide.st/api/v1 for OpenAI-style tools, or https://hide.st/api for Anthropic-style tools.
API key
A key from the API keys tab. It starts with sk-hide-.
Model
A model ID from the Models page, such as anthropic/claude-fable-5.1.
